Thiresi is the Sinhalese name for the Spot winged thrush, Zoothera spiloptera, an endemic Sri Lankan bird. This species was an
inspiration to ECO-V's founding members,and so the Sinhalese name is now used in many of the ECO-V activities. These activities are conducted on a continual basis in order to keep members, potential members and well wishers informed of the latest news and to develop their conservation knowledge and skills.
