Accommodation
If available, there is the possibility of staying at ECO-V's headquarters with the family of Kanchana, ECO-V's president.
You would have your own room, with large bed, mosquito net and fan.
The food is what the family eat: traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. If you do not like your food too spicy, it can be prepared with less chilli, and there is the option to bring in your own food choices – a fridge is available for storage.
A typical day?
The nature of your days spent as an ECO-V volunteer will vary greatly depending on your skills and the time that you are with us. It is likely that your time will be taken up with a variety of experiencing ECO-V's work as an observer and of contributing your skills.
Examples of activities that you may be involved in:
•Visits to ECO-V field stations
•Participation in ECO-V's training sessions
•Some office work to help us develop written and online materials
